[intro-text size=”25px”]What’s better than watching masterfully crafted robots of mass destruction fight head-to-head in an arena riddled with pulverizers, spike strips, spinners, kill saws, pistons, ramrods, screws, and hell raisers? [/intro-text]

Abso-fucking-lutely nothing. That’s right, people, BattleBots is back. Arguably harder than the championship drought Cleveland has been doomed with for 51 years was the last 12 years without BattleBots. But the wait is over because on June 21 at 9pm EST BattleBots will start its six episode series on ABC in hopes of showing the world the greatest spectacle since Women’s Roller Derby and the Lingerie Football League.

It’s unclear whether or not Bill Nye will continue to be the technical expert, but it’s safe to say that hopes are high. Like the original series, Bots weighing in anywhere from 60-340 pounds will fight in delegated weight classes for three minute single elimination style rounds with only one thing in mind, total fucking annihilation. This time around there will be a greater emphasis on the engineering of the Bots, combat analytics, the back stories of the builders road to the championship, and of course cash grand prizes. Will we see names again like BioHazard, Vlad The Impaler, and Diesector return to the arena, or will this be a new era of bigger, faster, and stronger Bots vying to reach steel and silicon nirvana? We can’t say for sure, but we can promise some kick ass robot action. So raise your middle fingers to The Bachelor and save room on the DVR for what will be sure to please the robots gods.
