World-Renown DJs Afrojack And Cedric Gervais To Headline TanZ Summer Music Festival Sunday, September 4.

6th Street will become a mad club scene this Sunday as two of EDMs most popular artists join some of our best local talent for an all-day outdoor musicfest to celebrate the impending end of summer in the CLE. The inaugural TanZ Summer Music Festival will take over the street this Sunday, September 4, from 1:00p.m. – 11:30p.m.

Or whenever you crazy people decide to actually leave…

The lead-up to Afrojack and Cervais will feature DJs Apster (the Netherlands), Kronic (Australia), and local artists Corrupt (Columbus) and EV and Derek Armstrong, both from Cleveland.

Because music festivals are always more than just music, you will also have the chance to show off your beach bod one more time at the Vegas-style pool party starting at 1p.m., check out nationally-known mural and bodypaint artists and soak up the beer suds with several of Cleveland’s most popular food trucks.

The state-of-the-art sound system and visual production includes a 20’ LED video wall, pyrotechnics and a light show event producers say will not disappoint.

Cleveland artist Derek Armstrong says he’s most looking forward to spinning on the big stage and massive sound system: “Playing on such a big production with top tier talent is an honor and what all of us DJs strive for.

“I’m very thankful to be a part of the first annual TanZ Music Festival,” he says. “I think it’s a huge step in the right direction for our city. We have the paint parties and now we have our own music festival. I think it will grow and become the biggest annual party for us here in Cleveland. I’m also looking forward to seeing all the people that will be in attendance and all of their crazy outfits as well. This is the first of many to come and I can’t wait to step on stage!”

DJ Corrupt calls Cleveland his ‘second home’: “I’m super excited to perform at TanZ Fest and the chance to play in front of a new crowd outside of my Barley House residency which has been so good to me. Booking acts like Cedric Gervais and Afrojack is huge for the city of Cleveland and its EDM scene. My performance will show my true style that only festivals and special events can really bring out. I hope Cleveland is ready!”

Cleveland is the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame city and still loves its guitar-rock – though EDM has all but taken over Europe and many of America’s largest cities, she’s still a burgeoning scene here, flourishing just underneath the radar. The rave culture that began in the 1990s and early-2000s wasn’t lost on Cleveland and EDM festivals in rural Ohio and neighboring states now attract thousands of Ohioans. It is primarily younger generations and long-time club-goers who have embraced the sound, but the success of artists like Calvin Harris and Skrillex have helped expose EDM to mainstream audiences.

Cleveland is ready.
