The line-up was packed with star power and Quicken Loans Arena was packed with, what felt like, the entire city. All night the vibe was nothing but positive, Clevelanders clearly came out to enjoy themselves and dance. DJ Ryan Wolf, DJ Corey Grande and DJ KNyce kept the crowd entertained during brief intermissions between sets with some hometown classics that the whole arena sang along to. August Alsina, who turned 23 the day before, celebrated his birthday with hundreds of screaming girls and he gave them all a show. Ray Jr. came out and the crowd showed the native Clevelander the love. He ended his set by bringing out MGK to perform “Till I Die” and not a single person was sitting down. The night closed with rapper Future taking us through his catalog of classic songs from his recent album Dirty Sprite 2 and his previous mixtapes that were dropped last year. He deemed Cleveland best city in Ohio, which I think isn’t anything short of the truth. If you weren’t at Summer Jam last night then you missed out on one hell of a night.
